The interstitial analysis laboratory maintains two instruments for analysis of trace abundances of volatile elements in metals: a LECO CS-600 for carbon and sulfur and a LECO TCH-600 for hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen. The carbon-sulfur analyzer is also suitable for determining abundances of these elements in rocks and ceramic materials.
